Gamma Hydroxy Butrate (GHB, Georgia home boy, Grievious bodily harm, Liquid ecstasy, Fantasy, Gamma-OH, Scoop, Sometimes)

Rohypnol (Roofies, Roachies, La Rocha, The Forget Pill, the Date Rape Drug)

It is illegal to possess this drug. GHB is made out of household items.
|
Manufactured by Hoffmand & LaRoche Rohypnol is illegal in the United States, but is used in other countries to treat sleep disorders or prior to surgery.
|
GHB is colorless, odorless, with a slightly salty taste that becomes more apparent at higher doses.
|
Rohypnol dissolves instantly in a drink and cannot be smelled or tasted.
|
Takes full effect within 5-20 minutes after ingestion.
|
Takes effect within 20-30 minutes after ingestion.
|
Effects include loss of inhibition, euphoria, incoherent speech, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of muscle control, nausea, headache, amnesia, repiratory problems, inability to move, and loss of consciousness. In larger doses, a victim may enter a coma-like state which can last 3-4 hours.

Victims may seem very intoxicated, with slurred speech, lack of coordination and loss of inhibition.
|
Remains in blood for 5-7 hours and in the urine for 12-20 hours.
|
Can be found in the blood for 4 hours, but detectable in urine for 36-72 hours.
|
Effects are intsified and potentially lethal when combined with alcohol and other drugs.
|
Ingestion, particularly when mixed with alcohol or other drugs, may lead to respitory depression, aspiration, and even death.
|
Testing is free to law enforcement, rape crisis centers, and emergency rooms investigating cases of sexual assault.
|
Detection requires a specific test. Rohypnol does not showup in a standard toxicology test.

What can I do to protect myself?
Keep your eye on your glass while drinking. |
Do not take any beverage from someone you do not know well and trust. |
Only accept drinks at a bar or club if given by a bartender. |
Watch the behavior of your friends. |
Brainstorm ways for you and your friends to watch out for each other at parties. |
